To compare the value of avocados produced worldwide, we use international dollars (Int$), a fictitious currency that accounts for differences in living costs between countries.[2]
The international dollar adjusts for inflation and reduces the influence of short-term currency fluctuations, thus making it possible to compare economic data across countries.
